I am currently an Assistant Professor of Communications at the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. My work examines the intersection of communication and psychology to assess how media images and narratives affect viewer identity, attitudes and behaviors, and how individuals use traditional, new and interactive media to express themselves and connect with others. How does media affect our identity, attitudes, and behavior? And how can we take advantage of this research to produce effective media and improve self-perceptions and intergroup relations?
